"How to ease the pain of grief by using this one simple strategy"

Starting today, every day will be easier

Dear Friend,

If someone you love died recently, my heart goes out to you.  Knowing you will never see them again, or hear them, or touch them, fills you with an aching emptiness.  Life seems pointless and barren, and the void overwhelming.

You would give anything to be with them now - enjoying a cup of hot chocolate while you talk about your day, sharing the mundane details.  To be in the kitchen together, with the food bubbling on the stove.  Or just knowing they are sitting in their favourite chair reading the newspaper while you potter in the kitchen.  Ordinary things, everyday things.

If only you could make that happen.

Unfortunately that heartache stays with you.  Every minute of the day.

Then slowly with time it starts to ease.  Thoughts of the past and your loved one still consume you.  Photographs conjure up memories of happy times.  You feel tearful, but it might hurt a little less.

Although the longing will always be there, becoming involved in life becomes easier - running errands, eating regular meals, even sometimes smiling.

Using time as your healer, is definitely an option.  And if that is your choice, I wish you the very best.

But there is another way

If you'd like someone by your side - to ease the pain and feel comfort, strength and healing - then let me introduce you to Val Waldeck.

Val spent 25 years in full time ministry and in 1998 started the Mountain View Family Church in Morningside, Durban.  Her successful writing career led to her being awarded the prestigious "Quill Award" of the South African Writers' Circle, not once, but twice.  She also ministers on "Bible Spot", a teaching program on a local community radio station.

What this Christian based daily devotional will do for you

·         It helps ease the pain of grief.

·         It provides you with a reason to get up in the morning.

·         You begin eating regular meals.

·         You start to notice things around you that trigger feelings of joy - perhaps a miracle of nature like an especially beautiful sunrise.

·         Life has a purpose beyond today.

Why this devotional could turn your life around

·         After being a pastor for so many years, Val Waldeck knows God's word and how He can help us.

·         In counselling hundreds of grieving people, she saw first-hand how they were affected by loss, and how they needed a grief recovery handbook to help them.

·         People resonate with these messages because they provide much needed comfort.

·         Slowly they begin to heal and are better able to cope with life.

My story

Fourteen years ago my father died.  I was devastated.  After a short while of not caring whether I lived or died, I started exercising furiously, sometimes three times a day.

At night, physically exhausted, I would literally fall into bed and not stir until morning.  This seemed to carry on for ages.  I wish I had known about this little book then.  Dealing with my dad's death would have been a much more serene and contemplative time.

Instead, when I think back, what I remember most are feelings of anger - anger at God, at everyone still alive, even my family and colleagues - and doing everything I could to blot out the desperation I felt.  I wouldn't want that for you.

Now, you're probably wondering how this will work for you
Let me explain.

This inspirational Christian book tells of one man's faith while he suffered dreadfully.

Learn how to cope with grief and suffering.

Overnight this man, Job, lost everything - his ten children, his vast wealth and his health.  Can you imagine going through all that in the space of one day?

A comforting and inspiring daily devotional.

Faith, together with your Christian beliefs and this devotional, will help you cope, one day at a time.  You will feel comfort, strength and inspiration as you share insights from Job's life and apply them to your own.

The awe-inspiring, simply written messages feed the soul every day.

These powerful short meditations and prayers strengthen you as a Christian.  Each one addresses problems we experience today with the same strength and courage that Job used when he faced his own grief and losses.

You can begin living again.

Once the pain has eased, your wounds begin to heal and you
open your heart to a renewed sense of purpose.  Thoughts and memories will be tinged with joy and peace.

Listen to what other people say.

P.S.  I cannot promise that you will be instantly healed.  But I can guarantee you will find this book comforting and helpful in finding peace.

P.S.S.  And whatever you do, don't make the mistake so many people do, of judging the quality of the product by the price tag.  Val and I are not making a living from this book.  It's a project that means a lot to us, and we would like to get it into the hands of all the people who need it.  Financially, we just want to cover our costs.
